This is a Cogeneration Power Plant of the Combined Cycle type (based on Gas and Steam
Turbines with Recovery Heat boiler) able to produce electric power, exportable to the Electrical
Grid, and steam exportable to local Client’s industrial facilities for any civil and technological application.
The Power Station was first synchronized in 1994, entered into commercial operation in
1995 and was finally put in conservation mode in 2010, after the end of the thermal energy
purchase agreement with the Steam Client.
Power plant remained in stand by operation up to end of October 2010 (available to the local
grid only for peaking expected during summer 2010).

The power station is mainly composed by:
-one (1) 38.3 MW General Electric MS 6541B Gas Turbine (Frame 6B) with its own
46 MVA, 11 kV, 50 Hz GEC Alstom Synchronous Generator
-one (1) Ansaldo Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) producing superheated
steam at two different pressure levels (70 and 6 bar)
-one (1) 18.7 MW Ansaldo condensing Steam Turbine provided with three steam
extractions (24-12-6 bar: designed for original final user steam requirements) and
connected to its own 23.375 kVA, 11 kV, 50 Hz ANSALDO Synchronous Generator
